My experience as a school Chaplain was that over the years, and the hundreds of young people I meet, there was a constant theme, they all wanted to feel safe and special.
When we could talk about Jesus belief, that it was God that put those feelings into them, and that God wanted every person to feel safe and special, we could at least begin a common journey with a common goal. The Goal was Life in all its Fullness.
In Part 2 of this talk, Richard helps us to see that when we seek safety and reputation only on the outside we miss a very important source of grace, ie inner safety and a real sense of being inwardly convicted of the truth and wisdom, of our lives of faith and friendship. Enjoy.
